5 Steps to a civil marriage ceremony

Your wedding day is a day you will want to remember forever. A civil marriage ceremony allows you the freedom to hold your wedding ceremony anywhere and anytime in Sydney. ‘Planning for your special day’ can be an overwhelming task but my aim is to make it much easier for you. I've put together a list of 5 steps to your civil wedding ceremony.

Step 1
Our first meeting will allow us to discuss your wishes for your wedding ceremony. We will also sign the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). This step must be completed at the earliest 18 months and the latest 31 days prior to the date of your wedding ceremony. At this point in time, the time and date of your wedding will be confirmed and we arrange a deposit.
Step 2
We will meet again about a month prior to your wedding day to rehearse the wedding ceremony and address any questions or queries that you may have.
Step 3
With under 14 days till the wedding ceremony we will meet again to finalise some further paperwork (this is a legal requirement stating that there are no impediments to your marriage). Final payment will need to be arranged, final details of the wedding ceremony will be discussed along with confirming time and location. This is the last time we will meet before your big day!
Step 4
I will arrive at the latest 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure that there are no unforeseen problems and that all audio equipment and microphones are working as they should. I will also be there to unsettle any last minute pre-wedding nerves.
Step 5
After a beautiful and unforgettable ceremony, you will be presented with your Marriage Certificate. This is where I bid you farewell and wish you all the happiness in the future.
