Wedding Ceremony in German

What a wonderful idea to get married in Sydney!

Sydney is a dream wedding destination with its iconic Opera House, spectacular Harbour Bridge and stunning white sandy beaches.

The good news is anyone can marry in Australia, whether you were born here or in another country. You do not have to be an Australian citizen nor do you need to live here as long as you are both over 18 years old.

After living for many years in Germany, I speak German fluently and will be able to help you prepare for your wedding ceremony in Sydney. All the necessary arrangements prior to your wedding ceremony can be arranged via email, phone, or Skype from Germany.

You will have to check with the German authorities for the full details of recognition of marriage in your home country. Some countries require a special stamp which needs to be obtained at your country’s Consulate in Sydney, before you leave Australia – it cannot be done when you arrive home.

As a Sydney civil marriage celebrant I will create a ceremony that captures who you are as a couple. I will get to know you so you feel confident your wedding ceremony will be one you’ll remember for all your life. I'd love to meet via Skype with you both during our first appointment to discuss your thoughts, wishes and ideas so I can create a civil marriage ceremony tailored to suit your every wish. As a German speaker, I will be able to conduct the ceremony in German should you wish to, and translate part of the script in German for your family and German speaking guests.

As a civil wedding celebrant, I am authorised by law to solemnise marriages in Australia. As an authorised civil marriage celebrant I am qualified to take you through the legal and the creative process of planning your marriage. I will ensure that the marriage will be registered in your country, as well as in Australia.

"Nicole was great.

She did a very good job.

She translated some of the script in German for our German guests."

Martina S., Manly - Jan 2016

On your wedding day, at least two witnesses must be present in addition to an authorised civil marriage celebrant. In a civil wedding ceremony, your vows or promises are the crux of the marriage ceremony. Time spent giving thought and care to those promises, making sure they are honest and meaningful, is one of the most valuable things you can do for your wedding day and your future marriage.

Writing your own wedding vows has become increasingly popular for this reason. It is not too hard to do. Simply take time to think about what you consider is really special in your relationship and what you really love about your partner.

The wedding ceremony is the most precious part of the day, even though it is over before you know it; that is why it is very important you feel comfortable with the civil wedding celebrant you’ve selected.

I hope that you place this trust in me as your civil marriage celebrant for your very special day.
